Great Riding!
North-Central PA has thousands of miles of beautiful forest roads and drivable trails!

Regardless of which surface and route you choose, there's something for all skills and energy levels. Everyone will receive free state road maps, and state forest maps with samples of suggested routes. You are not bound to these routes, but please...keep it legal!!!

Support:*
Meet friends, new and old!
Free mechanical support provided in the case of minor mishaps.
Free minor parts support (nuts & bolts, adhesives, used spare innertubes, bulbs, fuses, oil, coolant).
Additional parts support available for nominal charge.
(Spare parts on hand generally only fit the KLR650)

*"Support" does not necessarily include extraction of bike from the field. We'll help where we can. ***WE DO NOT HAVE A SUPPORT VEHICLE, nor is there a sweep crew! Support "on the road" will be limited due to the inability to carry all the spares and tools necessary. More involved repairs can be addressed at Bellefonte HQ.

Accommodations:

Camping & showers at Bellefonte HQ on Thursday and Saturday night. There are also some spaces indoors, available on a first-come basis. Some of our event alumni have their favorite spots.

Camping on Friday night at the Quiet Oaks Campground in Cross Fork, PA. Showers are covered, and breakfast will be available at the campground pavillion Saturday morning for about $3.50. The Rattlesnake Enduro happens to be there Sunday, July 29, so we will be camping among the some of the earlybird enduro riders.

Agenda and Ride:
Riding for the weekend will be "semi-expedition style." By this, we mean that we will be nomadic, riding to a destination on Friday and camping there friday night. Saturday we will head back toward Bellefonte HQ along a different route. Dinner will be served when we return. People will have time to relax, repair and recoup, check out the local nightlife, or raid the local drive-in movie Saturday night. Sunday morning, a full breakfast will be served before riders head home.

For improved flow and safety, we will be breaking into small groups of up to 7 riders (no less than 3 riders recommended in a group), based on skill & energy levels and your desired routes

There are no mandatory pre-planned routes! In fact, most of this ride will not be pre-ridden; this is a ride of discovery. It is up to your group to pick a specific path. HOWEVER, I will have Garmin tracklogs of an outbound and return route available for download. for folks who want to follow a track.
All participants will get free forest maps. There will be a master map displaying the quickest mostly-dirt route to each destination. Riders are encouraged to transpose this to their own maps. From there, they can decide their specific route they'd like to try, either paved or non-paved, with some options for greater difficulty. Be sure to keep all riding legal; stay off the hiking trails and other prohibited areas. The DCNR has no sense of humor for illegal motoring.

Because we will be camping, you must bring your own apprpriate camping gear. For best results, plan to arrive at the campgound by 7:00PM EDT at the latest. For people who want to go out to eat, there are a couple taverns in Cross Fork, about 3 miles from the campground.

Because we will be "on the road," and away from any kind of headquarters, THE SAFETY OF THE PARTICIPANTS AND THEIR MACHINES IS THE PRIMARY CONCERN. Try not to break yourself or your ride home!

Additional Guidelines:
Know your riding ability, and wear appropriate riding and safety gear.
Please observe nighttimequiet hours
No motors running before 8:00 AM.
No riding in the yard, and no moto horseplay in the neighborhood streets.
No riding in areas outside of legal roads and trails. Please assist with trash pickup, and crush all beverage cans.
Please return any tools you use to the garage.
Welding must be supervised or done by Mark.
No smoking or open flames within15 feet of the house or garage.
No smoking or open flames within the state forests, except for on the road surface and in parking areas.
Be sure to properly extinguish butts before starting off.

Food:
Your Thursday dinner, Friday breakfast, Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast are covered (above). If you have special dietary needs (vegetarian, low-carb, lactose intolerance), please let us know and we'll try to accommodate.
Meals along the route will be your responsibility. You may opt to tote all your food/cookware, stop at restaurants, or do a little of each. For example, a rider might want to tote snacks, beverages and breakfast foods, but eat at restaurants for lunch & dinner on the road with his fellow participants. Some may want to haul all of their food and eat together at camp.
